Member Keith Hudson cools the CRESN crowd

4 May , 2012

Charlotte heating and air specialist Keith Hudson cools the crowd

Long-time member Keith Hudson from Carolina Heating and Air Conditioning recently provided the CRESN members with an excellent presentation regarding the importance of achieving a high SEER rating in your home air-conditioning system.

The efficiency of air conditioners is often rated by the Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER) which is defined by the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute in its standard ARI 210/240, Performance Rating of Unitary Air-Conditioning and Air-Source Heat Pump Equipment. The SEER rating of a unit is the cooling output in Btu (British thermal unit) during a typical cooling-season divided by the total electric energy input in watt-hours during the same period. The higher the unit’s SEER rating the more energy efficient it is. For example, consider a 5,000-British-thermal-unit-per-hour (1,500 W) air-conditioning unit, with a SEER of 10 BTU/W·h, operating for a total of 1000 hours during an annual cooling season (e.g., 8 hours per day for 125 days). more!

18 Feb , 2012

Chris Harrill from ARC Electric Company

As always, member Chris Harrill did a wonderful job educating the CRESN membership about the services that his company, ARC Electric provides to it’s customers here in the Charlotte area.
